Make a Booking

Go to New Booking section

Select equipment from the list

Choose dates on the calendar (click start date, then end date)

Add optional description and click Create Booking

📧 Email Notifications

✓ You receive booking confirmation

✓ Equipment manager receives notification with reminder to prepare setup

✓ Admin receives notification of new booking

Cancel a Booking

Go to Information section

Find your booking in My Bookings

Click Cancel Booking button

Confirm cancellation

📧 Email Notifications

✓ You receive cancellation confirmation

✓ Equipment manager is notified

✓ Time slot becomes available for others

Create Equipment Type

Go to Equipment Types (Admin only)

Click Add New Type

Enter name (e.g., "Oscilloscopes") and description

Click Create

💡 Tip: Equipment types let you organize similar equipment and control who can book them. Common types: Test Equipment, Software Licenses, Lab Instruments, Compute Resources.

Add Equipment Item

Go to Equipment Management (Admin only)

Click Add New Equipment

Fill in: Name, Type, Location, Description

Click Create

💡 Tip: Add clear descriptions and locations to help users find the right equipment. You can edit details or deactivate equipment later without deleting booking history.

Assign Equipment Manager

Go to Equipment Management (Admin only)

Click equipment name to open details

In Managers section, click Assign Manager

Select user from dropdown and click Assign

📧 What Managers Receive

✓ Notification when equipment is booked

✓ Reminder to prepare equipment setup

✓ Calibration reminders (if configured)

✓ Access to manage their equipment bookings

Grant User Access to Equipment

Go to Equipment Types (Admin only)

Click on equipment type name

In Access Control section, click Grant Access

Select user and click Grant

💡 Tip: Users can only book equipment if they have access to that equipment type. This helps control who can use specialized or expensive equipment.
